Oramai piuttosto stempiato, con la sua fida Telecaster a tracolla, il rocker del New Jersey rilascia, anticipato dal singolo "We Take Care Of Our Own", il diciassettesimo album da studio che vede la collaborazione della moglie Patti Scialfa, di alcuni membri della E-Street Band, della "The Seeger Sessions Band" e di tre musicisti di altissimo livello: i batteristi Matt Chamberlain e Steve Jordan ed il chitarrista Tom Morello, ex componente dei "Rage Against The Machine" ed ex "Audioslave".
